Cool future volvo owner i hope!

Hello all. I am very interested in purchasing a used volvo and becoming a devoted volvo owner. What can any of you recommend when making my selection? Any help tips etc would be greatly appreciated. I want to use the car to haul myself and my family around the Sacramento Ca. area. I have been told that you can expect to get over 200,000 miles out of a well taken care of Volvo. That is exactly what I am looking for . What models should I look for and which ones should I stay away from?

I am familar with the S60 and S40, as I have owned both. We have owned a 2004 S60 2.5T and a 2004 S60 R AWD. I currently have a 2006 S40 T5 AWD, and I love it!! It is so awesome if you have to drive in slick conditions. The front-wheel drives are excellent as well.

The only issue I had with the 60 is the turning radius. I really sucked, but other than that, we loved it.!

They are not producing the S60's after 2009 I believe, but the used ones are very nice. Make sure you get Certified as my friend bought a 2004 S60 R from CarMax and well just imagine the $1500 bill he had at the Volvo dealership to get the car up to speed.

They are not cheap cars to maintain, but they are well worth it! I know you are in California, but I reccommend Gorges Volvo here in Omaha, NE. I have had issues with the people down in League City, Texas (Houston area), so I will stick to my hometown dealer.

I had a 2003 Durango before my S40 and would not go back for anything!

Good luck!

Courtney
