Hi there.. I have a 1970 Volvo 164 with a B30 engine, carburettor system, currently in need of restoration.. I'm trying to fix it on my own but I'm not a mechanic.. I can do some work on the car.. I'm thinking of buying an owners workshop manual.. But the manual is for UK and European Models.. Mine is Canadian.. I'm wondering, will this manual be of help ..? Since the models are for different countries.. And does the manual have all details of the wiring (and etc) to help me with the restoration although the manual includes models such as the 164E and the 164TE..? Thanks so much for your time..

Early models will be very similar. It wasn't until 1973 that changes in the engine became different (but these were not significant to cause problems) mostly in carb and ignition settings. I have British manuals for my early Mini that make separate note the differences in Canadian models.

The biggest changes in all 1968-1972 models for North America were safety related; side marker lights, front seat headrests, seat belts with shoulder straps and - not noticeable but important - fire retardent interiors.
