Default tachometer wiring

can anyone tell me how the 2 tabs on the rear of the tach are to be used? I thought the one red/white wire was to be used on a tab but there are 2 connections and "JMP 12v" stamped on the plastic housing. should these be jumped?

The red/white should be from the coil and a +/- for the bulb.
