the blower for the climate control (heater&ac) does not function properly on low or med fan switch but has full power on high.

as i understand the system the fan switch is shunted thru a resistor on the low and med positions. on high it is unshunted.
since the high fan position operates correctly i must assume the blower motor is good and the resister is defective.
is the resistor located on the blower housing?
does anyone have a diagram of the assembly so i can see how to access and remove the resistor?
is the resistor available in an online volvo parts store?
