Default SRS Light

How do I reset the SRS light? Awhile back I had to remove the complete dash to replace the heater core on my 760 Turbo Wagon (what a pain- I would rather replace an entire engine). I followed the instructions on disconnecting the power first. All went well to completion, including the return to service without any problems. Until ** I removed the steering plastic cowling for another reason weeks later and the SRS wiring connector, that i had not completely latched closed, came apart with the battery connected and i just plugged it back in. Hind site says I should have at least disconnected the battery first. Now the WRS light is on, while nothing else has happened to the system or car. Can anyone tell me how to reset the light? I have not taken any car to a shop for anything in 40 hears, with the exception of tires and alignment, including a Datsun 810 wagon with 500,000 miles on it.

Are you trying to reset the SRS light or a WRS?

Also, Welcome to the forum!

First make sure that the SRS is operating correctly. That's something you certainly don't want to mess with.

Give this a try:

Press and hold odometer reset button. Turn ign key to "run" position. After SRS light flashes release button. Turn off ign then back on to confirm reset.

Thanks

Thank you for the reply.

My wife has the car on a trip. I now have to wait for her return on Tuesday to try the fix. I can't wait since I have been staring at that light for more than one year.
