Thumbs up XC60 Owners, comment on your setup

I have 4,500 miles now on my 3.2 FWD. I really like the auto for its comfort, style and overall performance. The ride heighth is perfect, not too tall.

Pros: Fit and finish, interior, space, solid feel, quailty materials, strong engine and tranny, dash design, controls, rear seat heaters and much more.

Con: Privacy tint on the rear window. It's fine on the side rear windows.

My best highway mileage for this FWD 3.2 has been 22 at 74 mph average, cruise control, speed. Perhaps the specification listing of 27 mph was at a much lower speed and downhill. This is a little disappointing but not enough to spoil all of the strenghts and pluses.

Welcome Tom. I was born and grew up in Cincinnati. Is your xc60 an all wheel drive model?

Thx for the reply.

No, I opted for a FWD model I found in Dothan, Al. I went that route for some cost savings and better economy plus I thinks the drive train is a bit more free wheeling.

I couldn't be more pleased with this fine auto. I only have a fuss with the rpivacy dark tint, especially on the back window. I'll fix it or get over it.

I think Volvo should sell the heck out of this model if they get production and the buyers realize the value.

You should expect the mileage to improve over the next few months. Most manufacturers want at least 15,000 on the engine to be fully run-in and working at optimum performance.

Advertised highway mileage is usually tested at a much lower speed, 2008 Fuel Economy Tests so your already doing fine.

Thx for giving me a notion for patience. What octane level are people using? The manual says regular or 83 octane, but I belive 93 octane burns slower and gives a bit more power and hopefully, beter mpg. Perhaps the added cost is not worth the difference.

Best to stick to the manufacturers recommendation for fuel grade.

I remember an article (by Road & Track?) where they tested a Honda Accord for mileage and power comparing regular and super grade fuel. The Accord went further and faster on regular.

The computer knows best.

Default Floor Mats by Weather Tech

Weather Tech now has their rubber and shell type flormats for the XC60. I buy the shell type and they fit like a glove and hold any melted snow and junk until you dump them out.

BTW, I was able to acquire a piece of the window glass from Volvo in Seden and replace the ever so dark glass in my rear window. What a huge fix! You have so much more visability day and night.
