Default Tire & wheel combo for '99 V70XC AWD

I'm not interested in spending a ton of money on wheels and tires, but since I have to replace 2 tires and 1 original 15" rim, I am wondering what size will give me the best look and ride without any spacers or mods. Will stock 16" or 17" Volvo wheels from any other models fit as long as the bolt pattern is the same? Is 18" too big? THANKS!

First of all please always double and triple check that the tire/wheel combo will fit. But I've found most with the same bolt pattern will interchange easily. I know that you can fit an 18 x 7 rim on your car with a 49mm offset and the bolt pattern should be a 5 x 108.

These Volvo wheels should be interchangeable:

Volvo

1993-1997 850 - All Models
1998-2008 V70 - All Models
2005-2008 S40 - All Models
1998-2000 S70 - All Models
2001-2008 S60 - All Models
1999-2008 S80 - All Models
1998-2008 C70 - All Models
1998-2008 XC70 - All Models
2003-2008 XC90 - All Models

But please double check because I don't want to be responsible. This is a guide to the best of my knowledge.

THANKS! That leaves the field pretty wide open. Someone did say that the XC 90 wheels would not fit because they would have to bored out a bit. But I'll start my search. Any recommendations on tires (brands) and sizes?

Great, I hope this helps. Please double check my knowledge on this before you buy. You probably should actually bolt the new rim/tire on before you buy (if used) just to make sure.

The tire size and brand will depend on the rim size and what kind of driving you plan to do and how much you want to spend. It is a pretty wide selection based on budget. You can check out tirerack.com for some deals.

just make sure ALL of the tires are the same size otherwise the AWD system will fail. no if's and's or but's.
