Hello folks!'
New to the site, lookin' to see if anyone out there is familiar with the 144S. Problem is she was not driven for 5 years, cleaned out the gas tank (3 times)! she does start up and idle but she won't rev. I have gone thru a few inline gas filters in the process and I am getting less crud each time I change it out. The original carb or carbs have been changed out to a Weber carb setup, I do have good fuel pump pressure so things are kinda pointing in the direction of the carbuerator : ( . Anyone have any ideas on where to go next? I'm not a carb specialist so I would be interested if someone may have experience with this particular situation, I'm not desperate, yet!! pleeze help td

You are probably on the right path with the carb. Take it off and send it to a reputable shop with some experience with Webers.....They are not to be trifled with. At least that's what I remember from my time as a Volvo tech in the early 70's. There is probably more that one jet that could use a good clean out.
My experience with cars, motorbikes and various power lawn equipment that has sat too long and not "Stabil-ed" points to fuel starvation.
Just my 2 cts.
