ok first time saw the car it ran kind of smelled like gas. The owner said he replaced fuel pump twice . He said he thought maybe the tank should be lined? Ok i know you want to laugh but not yet please. I got the car in shop , had son (12) back the car up over me don't laugh,I was in the pit. Really .. I looking up at what i have no earthly idea at car ..Iam kind of trap in pit ...Thinking what pos was for .. Still looking.. If i had to replace a fuel pump for a thrid time .Maybe i should look what is in front of that to block, then break the pump ...Let see got line .. filter ,and tank....now you can laugh.. this gas tank has a pick filter that rustted frozen and was sending junk to the pump...How did find that was the problem ,me being a dumb ass..Why i took out the tank and found the filter was the problem. Here is where you can laugh .as i was taking out the tank ....you got it ..all over me ....

Wow, what a story. Do you have some pics? You can set up an album in the usercp and post photos and they will appear in the random photos on the home page. I saw an excellent restored example of a P1800 this weekend in Atlanta.

don't laugh the gas has been the scary part... i am basicly a new to this... i am old and slow ...sometimes clueless...ok.. how to fix gas lines...replace ...replace ..replace
..from a new gas tank...thank you don...to new fuel pump.. filter...and lines.. ok laugh.. ? .. What do i know ? .. go buy lines ..how am to know the diference..laugh .. high/low pressure.. it worked ..until i smelled gas and saw the leak...rrrr...ok i started to replace every line with high pressure and high pressure clamps /not hose clamps...When start to work this blue 111 beauty ..i spray wd-40 or something on those 1972 clamps..wait ..spray again.. go to store get parts or order on line ..don..wait .. the old hardware is trash do not even think you can use them good for back up ....get tools out screw driver and knife ..droplights ...that was easy ..right .. don't laugh .. really it was until i test drove pull in driveway .. rrr smell gas... open hood look for leaks.. this time i got really scared the fuelis dripping onto the manifold ..hissing..me i was pissing mad..run to get water ..warm pour on area and hope i don't damage the mainfold...ok laugh ..

did ya miss me ...don't laugh.... this fuel thing has been scary to down right laughable... really i replaced high pressure lines ...high pressure clamps,... test drive.. look.. the lines are pretty easy to replace, figuring what size to buy can be a pain ... i forgot to tell that i live in a small town in the midwest..not mid west big d .. but north .. so i have to plan and order way ahead of time for parts i even think that i might need .....then order extra hardware for rookie mistakes....like i said the hissing was scary.. ..a what do i know ...i really never even turned a wrench on a car....ok laugh.. this p 1800 has fuel injection .. easy to fix ..so i thought.. i had to replace lines, injectors, and some other space craft looking part ..why i just did ..so that i would not later.. i learned as i replaced parts the next weak part would break... oh did mention that the brakes went to the floor barny while i test drove....ok laugh

did you miss me.. don.t laugh....this car has taught me to be humble.. like don't think it is fixed .. it just waiting to surpise me somewhere else.... like the brakes.... i puled this car home .. what a joy it was...i had wanted a volvo for a really long time... i could expect to spend some money to get and keep it running..why not ..with only 27.000 on the car... i saw the car and thought ..... low mileage that should good.. don't laugh .. i found out that meant the car was sitting for years ...dry rot..rusted bolts rrrrr.. i will just say that i got a great deal of joy starting the car for the first time ....that is just after i turn the car off .., you smell something funny ... don't laugh. i could npt make this up even if i tried
