I just purchased a 1973 p1800 es wagon. I got it running, but It definitely needs a full tune-up. body is straight, but needs some rust work and new paint. It's a project. Can anyone tell me the approx value of this car. It's been a california car since new. I think I did ok with my purchase price. I will fix it and use it for my work. it will be great for the car shows I go to represent my product line.

Thanks,

Vladimir

There's quite a range of value possible. Hemmings is a good place to research; Hemmings Motor News: Auto Classifieds - Hemmings Auto Classifieds feature cars for sale nation wide.

Unfortunately, it's marque holds the price back. Being a Volvo, it will never have the value of it's similarly priced competition of the day. A '70s Porsche 914, Alfa 1750GT or even MGC GT will acheive a higher sale price. The sad part is, because of it's exclusivity, the 1800ES is a more expensive car to restore.

You own one because you like it - not as an investment.
