Hi everyone,

I have a 1991 240 and over the past winter the catalytic converter rusted our. I was able to replace the cat converter and the necessary tubing, but the oxygen sensor was frozen in the old cat. I haven't noticed any big changes since i fixed it except that the smell of the exhaust has changed quite a bit.

My question is, is the mpg effected by not having the catalytic converter and is it necessary that I replace it?

Any help would be appreciated!
