Only had the Volvo two weeks. Now it wont start. All i get is a clicking sound and a low hum when i attempt to start it. everything thing else turns on (ie: lights, radio horn ect). Four mechanics said different things. I replaced the starter, ECM and now i am told a sensor or a new ignition. Please HELP!! I already spent $580 on guess work. WHAT DO I DO?????!!!

I am having the same problem with my 1996 960. Drove like a dream for a week and then it quit. I am actually online with Chilton's DIY technition as we speak. Will let you know what he says.

He suggested a couple of things the last one being to "
Remove the cover to the fuse box mounted on the driver's side strut tower and look at the positive battery cable- is there any sign of corrosion where the cable end crimps onto the cable? This is a very common problem that causes the symptoms you are describing. ". Unfortunately this is not my problem but it may be yours. Hope it helps.
