I have a 1998 Volvo V70 that sometimes will not allow me to move the shifter from Park to a gear. This only happens when I have turned off the engine and does not happen every time. The button on the shifter will not push in to release the shifter knob. If I pump the brakes A LOT or turn it off and then restart it usually starts, sometimes it takes several times of this routine.
