I recently purchased a used '98 V70XC wagon. It has the turbo engine, and an automatic tranny. Inside the car, under the gear shift, there are 3 button, which I don't know the purpose of (no owner's manual came with the car).

The dealer who sold me the car told me to use the center button for driving on highways, but wasn't sure of what the other buttons were for.

I drive the car carefully across a dirt road, to get to my house in a rural part of my state. I wonder if either of the other two settings are better for driving on dirt and scrabble surfaces than the center button?

Thanks for your help!

There is a w button for winter or slippery conditions. This will decrease your gas mileage. If you use this, ( slippery conditions or wintery conditions ) an arrow will show up on your dashboard.....don't panic...it's supposed to do that. Otherwise do not use the other ones.
