Hi all, first post here. I have a question about an issue that has come up. I just purchased a 2001 XC70 last week. 89000 miles on it.

Last night and now again tonight after coming home and putting it in the garage, once the electric cooling fan stops, it starts to blow from the interior vents !! No key, nothing on, car locked. Is this normal, is there an issue? It is my wifes car and I am afraid she will get stranded at work or someplace else with the fan running and a dead battery. PLEASE HELP

Thanks

The electric engine cooling fan runs as normal but it is the interior vent s that are blowing. I believe after doing some on line research that this is normal after running the AC. I think it is called "after blow" and it is meant to dry the AC conditioning system to help get rid of the musty smell.

I am new to this XC 70, it happened to me twice last week, and I thought that my A/C is bad, but what worries me much is that after I open the door I hear a humming sound behind the A/C control unit, and I think that it is not normal.

Such an old post. This is normal. It has a timer on it to help get rid of the musty smell from the A/C system. Would have to check but I think it can be shut off with Vida. It is NOT a programing issue it is a relearn on the HVAC system. Have done it on newer cars.
