I purchased a 2006 s60 AWD with 82,000 miles last week and i love it.The only thing that i now realize is wrong with the car is a front end rattle that seems to be coming from both wheels.I just ordered end links as i have been reading these go out often.I checked out my strut seats and they seem to be fine maybe a little worn .I tried to wiggle all front end parts and they all seem tight including the end links. My question if the end links were bad would they rattle all the time or just at low speeds??It stops rattling after about 10 mph.The car handles incredible with absolutely no banging just a rattle.
The end links will be in early next week ..

I live in a part of Canada with TERRIBLE roads. Sway bar links are pretty much an annual service item.
Yes, the noise is most noticeable at low speed over small bumps. An easy way to tell if it's swaybar links is, if the rattle stops when taking a corner. This will load the sway bar and take up any slack that would be present when driving on a straight, flat road.

rattle

you might also want to check the front wishbone bushing while the weight is OFF the wheels, they are known to deteriorate within a couple of years, chased my noise for 6 years, never suspected the source, also check the bushings at the top of the shock strut, they wear out quickly too, cheap even @ OE cost...
