April 10-11th 2010 there will be a Vintage Volvo Challenge at Laguna Seca Race Track. My list of entries is continually growing and is currently at 25 cars. We are encouraging Volvo car clubs to come out and display their cars in support of this event. This is an SCCA Vintage event (sfrscca.org) and please contact me (Alan Berry) to get on the list of race cars or any questions you might have regarding this event ([email protected]).

Laguna Seca is a State Park so camping and RV hookups are provided for. The Monterey Peninsula is beautiful in the Spring so bring your olde Bricks and have some fun!

This race is really happening in 2010 but has gone through some significant changes. It is now a THREE DAY EVENT and still being held in NoCal but now at Sears Point Race Track April 9,10, 11th in 2010. The organization it is happening with is CSRG and they are excited to have our 2010 Vintage Volvo Challenge along with an All Alfa Romeo Race that weekend.

Sears Point is a fantastic track hosting one of two NASCAR road races as well as an IRL race every year. Because of this the facilities are second to none and the track is in the famous Wine Country so there are lots of nice places to stay and visit. Sears is a very technical track with lots of elevation and should test our old Volvos to their limits.

The list of race cars has swollen to an amazing 56 cars and over 25 are West Coast cars. My guess is we will have 25-30 cars actually show up...hopefully more but it's a long tow for the Midwest/East Coast cars so I'm assuming we won't get many cars from those areas.

We'll have a nice big area for a Volvo Car Corral and we have three sponsors so lots of giveaways for racers. The sponsors (so far) are: IPD in Portland Oregon at Volvo Parts, Accessories and Performance Specialists Since 1963, Ackerman's Servicing Volvos in Berkeley California at [email protected] and RSI in Portland, Oregon at [email protected]

All Volvo Clubs are invited so come and support your Marque.
