Hoping someone will have some insight into what happened to me yesterday. A hot day in northern NJ--95 degrees. Out driving my 2012 S80 (160k), a car we've by and large been pleased with. I was idling in line to get money out of a drive-up bank ATM, and all of a sudden almost every warning light in the car went on. It read "DSTC Temporarily Off" and occasionally flashed "Transmission Service Needed." The power steering then went dead as I tried to drive away, and the acceleration died for awhile and then slowly kicked in. The front brakes--rotors and pads—were replaced just last week, as was the brake fluid. I read in manual that DSTC can shut off if brakes overheat. Could brake work previous week have caused this?
Car limped home. Power steering not working at all. Should I have car towed to Volvo dealer where it is serviced, or should I drive it today and see if things are back to normal. Thoughts would be appreciated.
