I'm in the process of replacing rear brake pads on my 2016 S60 and having trouble compressing the caliper piston.

Full disclosure...I removed the E brake motor and in my enthusiam to get it done, I accidentally turned the T40 screw COUNTER clockwise instead of clockwise and pushed the piston out. Not all the way out, but now I'm having trouble getting the piston to compress back. I'm not sure if it needs a twist or just push straight back. There's a chance I may have misaligned the E-brake screw and that's causing a blockage? Any insights would be very much appreciated!
