Hello, everyone i hope someone can help me. I have a 1998 Volvo 850 Non-turbo. I have a intermediate Speed ometer problem it seems to work today, and not work tomorrow. You see sometime when i crank the car and drive the dial's on the cluster work pefectly. Other times they dont even register, and during this time i notice my cruise control doesnt work either. As i said earlier the next time i drive the car all systems are go including the cruise control. Please if anyone can help me all suggestions are appreciated.

I have a 1998 Volvo 850 Non-turbo. I have a hanyes and chilton repair manual. I feel that there has to be something much better for maintenance of my vehicle . Are there any suggestions for repair manuals or CD's that you Volvo specialist trust ??

Do you get any ABS/TRAC lights on the dash?

No Sir, I do not get any ABS/TRAC lights on the dash. I seem to have no other problems in fact sometime it works just fine.

There's a transmission input speed sensor that gives information to the speedo which is a fairly common failure. When it goes out, your speedo and cruise both stop working. Good luck.
