possible repairs needed on 98 V70 XC for sale
This is my wife’s car – I’m going off of what she’s telling me, as well as what I’ve personally noticed.
1.) I think the Starter is going bad (occasionally it sounds like it's spinning but not cranking the engine - it still starts most of the time on the first turn of the key though)
2.) I think the Fan Relay may need replacing (the fan runs for a few minutes after the engine shuts off).
3.) Lift Struts on Rear Hatch don't hold the door up.
4.) Sometimes engine has to run for about 20 min. before car will go over 35 mph. (had previous issues with the MAF Sensor that caused similar problems) – possibly a needs new MAF Sensor?
5.) Needs front alignment and probably new shocks/struts.
It needs work, though nothing really major (as far as I can tell) - nothing I wouldn't fix myself if I had the money. We really like the car, but I’ve been laid off since mid-November, and my wife is now in danger of a layoff, and we can’t afford to keep fixing this car (haven’t been able to afford to make a few recent repairs already – as you can see).

Just an update - The "warm up time" issue (to go over 35 mph) might be a cold weather only issue. We noticed it this last winter (many below-zero days this last year) but it seemed less likely on days where the temp was in the 30's. Since the weather has gotten warmer, I haven't seen this problem reappear yet.
