Does anyone know if the ODBII reader will tell me if the ABS unit is bad?

I have a 98 V70 (no turbo). The ABS light is always on and the trac off light is also always on. Lastly the speedo and odometer intermitantly go out. I heard somewhere that all this stuff was linked or related and that maybe a new ABS unit would be needed.

Anyone have any advice on this?

Hello, You heard right. Remove it and send it to Vic Rocha(sp?). Do a search. He rebuilds them. It's February. Are you still having this problem? Kira

Problem all fixed. Thanks for tip - shortly after I posted my question I found the previous threads with Victor's info. I followed his instructions, sent my ABS unit into him and sure enough, it was bad and he was able to rebuild it. Very fast, excellent service and it works perfectly.

He even helped me troubleshoot a different ABS-related issue. Turned out one of the wires going to one of the ABS wheel sensors was also bad causing intermitent failure. He sent me some directions on how to isolate which sensor and I ultimately found the bad wire. Fixed it up and it's all good!!!!

Probably would not have found it without the forum!
