Battery warnings and dimming and brightening headlights 2012 XC60
Had two events occur today with my 2012 XC60:
1. Charging failure service urgent message. Went about 25 miles after the warning came on without stopping or turning off the vehicle when the message disappeared. No other symptoms during this period. Went to auto zone and the battery checked out at 100 percent charged. No further issues.
2. Later same trip after sunset noted the headlights dimming and brightening at various times. Turned off the AC, radio, BLIS, and Parking sensor but the dimming and brightening continued.
Initial thought is the alternator is on the verge of failing and requiring replacement.
Thoughts?
