can anybody tell me what the thin yellow wire with the fuse holder that bolts down to the battery is called and where i can find another one because the one that i have is overheating for some reason and causing the car to shut down at times. it's also melting the insulator sleeve, which causes it to spark and burn. Any suggestions?

Commonly a yellow wire is battery feed (unswitched, 30A). Make sure the correct amp fuse is in there first.

strange it was a 10A fuse in there. was that the problem or is there something else that needs to be done>?

Well if we are correct in our assumption that a 30A was required, a 10 will keep blowing. See if your manual can confirm a 30A.
