ghost twin, I have a 05 V70, na, and installed a Scepter induction system replacing my existing air box and K&N filter. After 2500 miles at ambient temperatures from 70 to 10 degrees F, I can say that: average MPG increased by 1 ($2.79 for each saved gallon) the wide variation in temperatures does not seem to have any effect, noise level (as long as you don't have a lead foot) is only slightly more noticeable. I am still in the learning processes in how to drive the "new" intake system, I have had up to 30 MPG on back roads and 32 on the highway (I still need to take a road trip on the highway for more than 1 or 2 hours to really find out where it is at). Sometime in the near future I will be building an air box to see if a little extra air pressure makes any difference. The Scepter system is perfect for those of us who like to tinker it is made in 4"-6" sections (straight, 90, 45, 60, and 22 degree bends with both 3" and 4" IDs available) so that you can customize your system the way you want it. It took me about 3 hours start to finish to remove the old and install the new to the way I wanted it. The 3" sections are made from some type of chromed hard plastic with "O" ring seals and clamps for each section, one of the adapters allows you to keep your original air flow meter and another allows you to hook up to 3 vacuum lines so that you don't loose your emissions controls. They also make a kit that you fit-up the way you want you send it back to them and they makeup an all metal (welded) induction pipe if you want. Good luck, davidmmcssssw.
