Dead battery, key locked in ignition.

New to me 2009 S40. Used parking lights - the only things that stay on after the engine is turned off, so now have a dead battery. Not knowing, tried to start car & key is now locked in the ignition (on I).

Is it safe to jump the battery with the key in? It won't come out.
