Hello
We have a 2002 FM8 which was a tractor unit but was modified to a 4 wheeler for carrying & granite. It has been a great truck but for the past 4 months we have had a strange problem. It started with it being a pain in the ass to start in the morning & was blowing lots of white smoke out before it eventually started which some days took 5 minutes of continuous cranking & on the odd occasion needed a sniff of ether, we thought it was a water problem with the white smoke & then the oblong gasket on the side of the engine on the cooling system started to leak which was due to diesel in the water which perished the rubber seal, this lasted about 3 weeks till it went again due to the diesel in the water, we then checked the fuel tank & the diesel was a lime green colour instead of being clear which was obviously because there was water in the diesel, we drained the tank etc & again replaced the rubber seal. We were told it could be the injector sleeves so we had those done at the main agents & the fuel seems to be clear but we have changed the water 3 times in order to flush out any existing diesel that maybe in the cooling system, the last time was yesterday but we can still see the rainbow effect in the water which tells us that there is ill diesel in the water! We were wondering if the fuel lines passed through any part of the cooling system in order to heat or cool the diesel? Has anybody ever had this problem??
