I have a 2003 Volvo S40, I have been a mechanic for 40 yrs. and have never seen this. The car will not start, if I take the serpentine belt off the car it will start. I left the belt on and disconnected the wiring to the alternator and it starts. The alternator is fairly new. Does anyone know about this problem.
