Hello!

I'm planning to drive to the Grand Canyon this Spring Break. I just had the right axle changed and my Volvo is in very good condition.

Since I got it used, I don't know exactly how the drive should be. So far, the car has not given me any mechanical issues. I change oil regularly. The AC and heat work well and when the car is in cruise, it is as if the whole living room is moving. :D yes, it's THAT comfortable.

However, I'd like to find out if the car is okay for a long trip (Oklahoma to Arizona). I suspect it should be okay but advices, thoughts, and tips are most welcomed.

Currently, it has 166,000 miles on it.

thanks!

Well it's tough to determine if your car is road worthy enough for a trip like this simply over the internet. I'd suggest having a mechanic take a look at it and also make some shorter road trips first to make sure you are confident in your car.

It's probably good insure to by AAA before you go in the event of a breakdown. At least you'd have some towing and support to fall back on.

Post up pics of the Grand Canyon!

Sulley,

I will definitely do that. I'm already an AAA member. This is my 3rd time going to the canyon (last time was in 1998) and in both previous times, I had to rent a car.

Thanks!
