I've recently replaced the thermostat on my volvo v70 as the heater wasn't working (only bought it a few weeks back and now trying to fix things!). This didn't make any difference and I've since noticed that the hose to the heater has been cut through, which would explain it! I'm assuming that the only reason this has been done is because the heater matrix is leaking. There's no evidence on the carpet though. Would there be another reason why someone would have done this?

If the heater matrix needs to be replaced is this something I can do myself or is it a garage job?

Cheers, Simon
