Hi,
i just recently picked up a white 1992 740 N/A wagon that i would like to turn into a little project.

So far i love this car. Its smooth, simple and SLoOOoooW!!!!

As far as what i wanna do with it its simple. Lower it and change the wheels to something like a 15x8 +20 or so.

So far i've had absolutely NO luck with such an ODD lug pattern for wide 15 inch wheels; but does anyone know where i can find some?...

Also, do they make sopme kind of lowering springs for this car that wont break the bank or ride too harsh.. And shocks also.

Thanks! :)

Welcome to the forum Chappe! What location are you in? That will help with some of your questions knowing if you are sourcing from the US or somewhere else.

Anytime you get into lowering springs you should expect a harsh ride. You can get adjustable ones so that you don't have live all the time with the same ride, but those tend to be pricey. What kind of budget are you trying to stay in?

Thanks

im in the states. Virginia to be more specific... I woul like to keep it as simple and cheap as possible... According to the PO the car has shocks off a turbo one. I dont think they're new, infact, im almost certain that he put them on there after they were used. Maybe i'll even cut one coil off the springs and see how that goes. And maybe some new ebay shocks or something cheap. . . . What im worried about the most is wheels with the volvo lug pattern being so weird.. Right now the car has wheels of a turbo 740 (which i plan on painting white myself) but i would like some lower offset wheels on there. . . But you get the point; low, slow and cheap.

kinda want it to look somewhere along the lines of my miata.

Does anyone know of a company that makes wheels like that (for volvo) ^^^ that arent a million dollars a wheel??

Well the most inexpensive thing you can do to lower is cut the spring. The wheels are going to be tough on a budget. You can look at other volvo models and use something there. If you get into custom rims you might be looking at big $$. Try craigslist too.

You're right. But even if i up my budget for a set of wheels, i think its unlikely to find a nice set of 15x8 +20mm with a volvo lug pattern... and that's he problem, that i want to stick to small wheels. . . . maybe i'll just stick to the stockers.
