Shifted car from reverse to drive- The worst grinding sound in the world started to occur. If car is in park- nothing.
Figured it was the transmission- replaced the entire transmission.
Looks as if the axle on the drivers side is falling out of the transmission. Push the axle in and the wheels spin let off for a bit. Put it in drive again and axle falls out.
ANY suggestions would be GREAT! I'm tired of spending money and my husband is tired of working on it. (He's a Ford guy so has zero experience with Volvos).
