Ok here is the story I have a 2001 volvo s40. I had traveled on the highway and in stop and go traffic and at a stop sign I stopped. Turned onto the street and then the car just rev's with a **** **** **** ****. Ok so I get it over to my girlfriends mom's house, jack it up, it is the yoke of the passenger halfshaft broke. Ok so we change out both sides. We get done I back it down the driveway, let it sit cause it was time to eat. Then I go to leave and I get 7 houses down the road and it just rev's again. Any gear you put it in you go nowhere. When select park it makes a wierd noise but still no go. Right now we are thinking Tranny fluid. Anybody else have any other suggestions? And if the fluid how did it leak?

Just starting to get frustrated and we really don't have the money to take it to the shop.

Thanks

Matt

Mark, allow me to make a recommendation. I'm sure you've all ready wasted a bunch of money on replacing the axles. So you're scared to take it to the dealer because of the outrageous repair bill they're gonna give you. So go there, pay for the diagnosis, and then figure out how you're going to find a different alternative to repair it, but stopping throwing money away at guessing at parts/diagnosis that may or may not be faulty. Good luck. :)
