I have a 2007 V70 and when I remove the key, the horn blows. I can stop it by putting the key back in the ignition and turning it to the on position. I have tried to lock and unlock the doors as recommended by the dealer with no success. They have no clue what the problem is or how to fix it. Any help will be appreciated.

So you've taken it to the dealer and they can't diagnose the problem? Does it do it with both keys?

I'd say Software.

Go to a Volvo dealer that can check the alarm via the OBD2 connection to the vehicle's computer.

They did and nothing came up wrong. They are replacing the antenna ring around the key and hope that will work.

You don't have an aftermarket alarm or car starter?

They're known to couse LOTS of problems.

No, everything is stock

They may have to re-program the keys. Are there batteries in the keys?

No batteries and if the programing was not working, the car would not start. They have already checked that.

OK, but just like a computer at home or work, re-loading the software can sometimes magically fix things.

Computer logic, an oxymoron?

They replaced the antenna around the key ring and the horn seems to have stopped blowing. I am not sure one has anything to do with the other but for now the problem has gone away. Time will tell.
