Our semi truck has been in the shop several times for a unknown issue with truck not running right. When we bring it in to the shop they tell us something is “talking” on the J1936 line at the same time and the truck is not getting the information it need to run properly. They however do not know what is interfering with the computers. Please help!!!

I don't think that the problem is that serious. However, have you tried to consult a car repairing service?
It’s not a car it is a semi truck and it has been in the shop several different times and it is serious enough that it has left us on the side of the road

EMI is a troubleshooting challenge. First step is always grounding. All modules on the communications bus should be checked for clean, solid ground - including the battery. One quick and dirty test is to take a non-conductive stick/rod/pole and tap a number of times on each module while the truck is running, and while monitoring the J1936 line with the truck running. Another approach is to set up a 'sniffer' on the J1936 line and capture all traffic, eliminate the legitimate traffic and try to find out what the other traffic is. Are there any other electronic devices installed in the cab? Tracking devices, milage/hours trackers, wireless headsets. How frequently is this occurring? Can you run for a while with all other devices disabled (truly powered off?) and see if that clears things up. Any aftermarket metallic items affixed to the cab body?
