Hello all, I've recently purchased a wonderful 480ES and am having trouble with the mpg read-out. The instant mpg and average mpg constantly read 11.1 (it's more like 30-40 in reality).

The fuel/distance/average speed/range/temp gauges seem to work fine but it's not updating the mpg (and therefore range) calculation. I've hit the reset button on all and I've explored how to calibrate the fuel gauge, etc.

I'm otherwise a complete novice with this sort of thing but thought I'd ask for some advice on fixing it.

Thank you.

monkeyman.

Thanks for your reply! I tried that this morning after reading your message. Disconnecting the battery did reset the guage (a line was displayed instead of a number) but about 5 minutes after driving off both MPG read-outs went back to 25.5 L/100km (or 11.1 MPG if I change the units). The average speed steadily increased as normal but the fuel consumption remained the same. If I hold down Reset and turn the ignition on, the guage shows me how many litres are in the tank and that seems to change accurately. I've read something online about the CEM and MFU circuits in the car that are involved in the infocentre guages (?), perhaps something is dodgy about mine? I've no idea really...
