My 97 850R

I bought it new with 82 miles on the clock in Jan97. This past Thursday because of a short in the fan on the radiator I got to watch my car burn. And because we were trying to reduce our expenses we dropped full coverage about 2 weeks ago to liability. Talk about bad luck. I was prepared to get 300K miles out of this car. I hope the pictures will show people enough so that this doesn't happen to anyone else. Volvo of North America is supposed to call me on Monday about my car but I really don't know what they are going to do since it was 12 years old.

Maybe Volvo of NA will help thinking that there could be liability in it. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Actually, to my surprise, they did just that this morning. VofNA called me to tell me that their rep was actually looking at my car. What they will do now is a mystery to me.

The car is gone but now I am trying to sell: 5 -17" Volans, 4 brand new snow tires with wheels, the radio, and the rear deck spoiler so I can spare a little more change to buy another car. The stuff is for sale on craigs list denver colorado under 850R parts.

They tried to tell me that a Chief Firefighter Investigator that actually looked at my car after they put out the fire lied to me and there was no way that what he said was the truth (the fan shorted out). Then they said they would give me a $2000 discount on a used car at my local dealership. While it's nice the cheapest thing the dealer had was $18K which is out of my league in price. So I am stuck without a car for now. I have to sell those parts in order to buy another clunker until I can save enough to buy something decent.

There's no point to an attorney. I can't prove anything. The car went to the crusher within 3 days of the incident. I have to sell what I can and move on with life.
