I am new to the Volvo scene. I just purchased a 1999 S70 2.4 non-turbo. I purchased it with a bad engine. I was hoping to rebuild, but when I started disassembly I saw it had a rod through the side of the
block. I found a 1994 - 1997 2.4 non-turbo from an 850. The seller sent me some pics of the engine. I noticed it had a distributor on it, mine does not. I am trying to find out if I can make it work in my car. I don't mind swapping heads or any other parts if I need to. Any advise on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Go to Robert DIY on Youtube. He has repaired older Volvo’s for years. He would be the person I would trust on older Volvo issues. Hope this helps. In fact he goes to peoples homes and helps with repairs and upgrades.
