Hello! I'm new to the forum. I bought an '03 S40 a couple of years ago and just wanted to learn more about the car. I'm a huge VW fan, but this is my first (and hopefully not last) Volvo. I'm amazed by what a solid little car this is every time I drive it. I actually got it for my wife. She really wanted an S60 but those were a bit out of reach at the time we were shopping so we ended up with our S40.
I love wrenching on my own cars, and I'm not afraid to tackle anything "bolt on". I don't really have tools to go internal into the motor or transmission but I can do just about everything else (as long as I have a workshop manual).
I started having an issue with the automatic climate control on the S40 almost right after we bought it. Rarely, at first, but now it just continuously cycles on and off. I have to run it on manual mode for heat but the A/C almost never works now. I figured this would be a great place to start researching my problem and any possible fixes so I joined the forum. So here I go, off to search for treasure!! If I don't find anything I'll post all about it in the Sedan forum shortly.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Thanks,
Don Zielke
