I am currently driving a Nissan Murano. I have wanted to drive a Volvo for years. My husband and I are trying to reduce debt and are thinking about selling my Murano and getting an older, less expensive car. I have the opportunity to buy a 2002 Volvo S60 at a really good price ($8,000), 75,000 miles on it. Two questions: 1) It's listed like this: 2.4L I-5 cyl, AWD. How do I know if it has the Turbo engine? 2) Am I crazy for getting rid of my Murano for an older Volvo? I am so afraid we will have to fork out tons of money on repairs, which would be defeating the purpose of getting out of debt. Are there certain things I should have a mechanic look for on this vehicle?

I currently live in MO and the car is in OH. My nephew works for a large Honda dealership that has this car and he can get us a great deal. So we are thinking about flying out and purchasing the car and driving it home. It looks so beautiful on the pictures. It's a light greenish color. I am just hoping it's as beautiful in person as it is in the pics. This dealership allows you to get a free Carfax and AutoCheck report for all of their cars, which I thought was pretty awesome. Everything checks out great. No accidents. The only thing is it was listed as being either a rental or a lease, which I don't think we should be too concerned about. The miles are really low.

Hope this wasn't too long of a post. I just want to get advice from people who are experienced with driving Volvos. Thank so much!
