Just bought a 1989 240 D for my college daughter, 170K, great looking shape over all. Cruised easily on the freeway about 30 miles coming home from purchase. Previous owner said it stalls at idle at times and did so for me. Can hear idle speed drop then dies. Starts right back up. He says he replaced the mass airflow sensor. Any ideas?

try the tick over motor,and use carb cleaner,
