Hi! As the title says, I am the new owner of a 1975 164e. It is burnt orange in color with no visible rust and has 92,000 miles. Our regular Volvo mechanic went over it with a fine tooth comb. Thus far, the repairs needed were to rebuild the brake system, replace the fuel sending unit and the electronic switches for the front windows (the rear windows are cranks), and fix a half inch dent on the front grill. The interior is excellent shape. However, the upholstery has faded but has no rips, tears or stains. I am going to have it reupholstered as soon as the mechanic finishes. The material is dried out and crunchy. I don't think it will hold up for long. Does anyone know if there is a reason not to redo the upholstery? I don't know if the original material is still available. I doubt very seriously that it is. Also, one part that I am looking for is a round clock that is inset in the dash. Any hints to where I might find one? Thanks for any assistance or comments.
