Hi there I have after much research found the V40 wagon to be a perfect car for my daughter in LA who lost a car and has 3 girls, She had an Odysey or something like that, but costly items! plus Volvo is known for safety and when buying for your kid That takes on new meanings. So I am definately going Volvo wagon I found 2 nice examples 2001 1.9 T wagons ,one is silver, clean, very cute, as new almost, leather etc, for 4,000 out the door from a dealer of repos, 3 month 3,000 mile warr incl, yet 189,000 miles, The other wagon, same year etc, but green, 98k miles, private party, out of state plate , but just smogged here in Ca, successfuly, it appears less perfect to me curb wise, but hours vs miles is difference I think? The 189k wagon seems newer and less worn even onthe seats, maybe drove far daily? carfax with dealer repo car, which way to go?? private car is just 3,000! maybe bit less!

Carfax should hopefully verify the mileage or help. The lower mileage one could have had the mileage rolled back if it doesn't look good. Do either have any records? I'd have a Volvo mechanic look at them to really tell you which way to go.
