Hi!
I have just migrated to Australia and bought a 1978 244GL Auto B21E sedan. This is my first Volvo and was owned by my wife's late Grandma who looked after it from new. It has done 140k kms and seems in reasonable shape.
After many years of driving 'modern' cars it is fun to go back to something that has quirks (like difficulty in starting when it is cool and damp) and a service schedule every 10000 kms. So I will need to get my tools out again after a long time without having my head under the bonnet and re-learn some of the tricks.
As you may imagine I have a number of questions...
First, what RON fuel should I use? The instruction manual says 93 or better but what is the likely impact of using 98 or 95.
And can anyone recommend spares shops in Sydney for Volvo spares (plugs, leads, dist caps, gaskets etc.) as I suspect I will have a need for some soon.

ey im chris from australia and i bought myself a '86 volvo 740 gle with full electrics minus sunroof 4 $300AU in immac condition from the wreckers across the road only has 1 small bit of rust on the drivers side back door
