New York Auto Show 2018: Volvo V60 Makes North American Debut

The new Volvo V60 estate wagon has made its North American debut at the ongoing New York Auto Show 2018. The new Volvo V60 was showcased alongside the special range-topping variant of the XC40, the inscriptions trim. The new mid-size luxury wagon from the Swedish carmaker is based on Volvo's versatile Scalable Product Architecture a.k.a. the SPA platform, which already underpins V60's SUV cousin, the Volvo XC60, which recently bagged the prestigious World Car of the Year Award 2018, at the NY Auto Show.
For the US market, the 2019 Volvo V60 will be available with a T5 Front-Wheel-Drive Drive-E powertrain with about 247 bhp, and a T6 All-Wheel-Drive Drive-E powertrain with 316 horsepower. Both will have an 8-speed automatic transmission. Both will have an 8-speed automatic transmission. Globally, the V60 comes with two plug-in hybrid powertrain options as well - a new T6 Twin Engine AWD petrol plug-in hybrid that generates a combined 335 bhp, and the T8 Twin Engine AWD petrol plug-in hybrid that delivers 385 bhp.
Visually, the new Volvo V60 is essentially a scaled-down version of its older sibling, the V90. Up front, the V60 features the company's signature grille, flanked by the iconic Thor's Hammer LED daytime running lamps with LED headlamps. The wagon also comes with a well sculpted front bumper with a wide central airdam, a sharp chin with black mouldings. Other feature will include - new sporty alloy wheels, a long bonnet and vertically stacked LED taillamps that are unique to the Volvo estates and SUVs.
