so i nicked this guy's 1963 or so p1800 a couple of days ago. i put about a 3 inch chip in the paint on the back right panel, as well as a minor dent in the chrome trim just above the scratch i made in the paint. its the little bit that goes to a point near the tail light. i was wondering what i can expect to pay this guy in damages. a little paint, perhaps a new side rear chrome trim. i'm fine paying for repairs on this fine automobile, i just don't want to be taken advantage of in the situation. thanks.

Ron - when it comes to a topic like this it can be tough to answer without seeing pic or knowing more about the car. If it is in perfect condition in the US you may be looking at a steep bill. To fix the trim and to make the paint match could be $500 - $1,000. If it is an older vehicle and the paint is a bit rough then a minor repair and touch up for a couple hundred dollars may get it done. I had a scenario where the paint was perfect on my car and I had to paint an entire panel to make it match and get it right and it cost me just over a $1,000.

Again, kinda hard to tell much more than this without a little more to go on. I hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.
