Hi! I recently purchased a 2001 S40. It was sold in Mexico. Im looking for an engine to put in it in Texas because I cant find on in Mexico, but, all the wrecking yards specify that their engines are for the VIN 25,27 or 29. That is the 6th and 7th number of the VIN. My car has 37. Will the motor for the 25,27 or 29 work? Whats the difference? They look the same! Thank you for your help and advice! Dustin

That's an interesting and tough question. I would think it would bolt up the same, but have different emission tuning. But that is only a guess. Let me know if you find out for sure.
