My 94 850 stops running with no warning. It starts back up right away. This is an intermittent problem. Any ideas what to check?

I am by no means a Volvo expert so I could be way off. What you described sounds like an ignition module. Vehicle shuts off just as smooth as if the key were turned off then starts right back up. Does your car shudder or just shut off?

just shuts off as if I turned the car off. without any problem, it starts right back up.

That sounds like an ignition module to me but hopefully a Volvo expert will confirm or correct me. Good luck.
