Today, the check engine light came on when starting the car - the guy at autozone ran his computer to it and said there was nothing causing it. - the srs airbag light is on because the battery was replaced... any thoughts? Should I swing by the local volvo dealer and see if their computers tell me anything? the carfax report came back clean when I got the car monday


any ideas on anything that can cause the check engine light to mysteriously come on?

So do you have both lights on? Any chance your gas cap wasn't put on tightly? I've seen a loose gas cap trigger a check engine light. You usually have to run a tank or two of gas and it goes off.

Gas cap is tight -- first thing I checked, I DID put gas in late yesterday -- some air could have gotten in there....
