I'm trying to get the outside of the car looking as nice as the interior. My biggest eyesore is the plastic cladding/moulding along the rocker panel. I had a chance to strip a 93 but wasn't able to. Has anyone tried painting them with special paint? Rustoleum makes the paint for plastic outdoor furniture. Another thought was to take them off and have the holes filled and paint a black band around the bottom.

Long term project

Hey now.

I'm new to this forum but I can understand what your saying.

I have a 1994 850, The Anvil:cool: and I'm looking at using some Duli-Color Bumper Coating as the trim has faded alot and I'm tired of the look of it.

I'm still finding my way around the site and once I find a way to link up some before and after pic's, I'll show my work, (an old math teacher flashback ), of the prep, masking and spraying and, hopefully a beauty result.

Too bad that you missed out on the strip club, I mean, job ;-). I have been looking for a parts car but haven't found one in the price range I'm looking at yet, be hey, it could still happen.

RE: Long term Project...

I finally had the chance to paint the side molding and bumpers over the weekend and I only missed a couple of spots.

Here is the before and after photos link.

This is the best I can do for a "how to" as this is the first try from start to finish.

I hope this can help someone as it is the easiest job I ever did to a car that came out great. Need a couple of touch up's and still have to do the mud guards.

And I also have to put in the side markers. So I'm hoping that this will be a decent week, weather wise, as I'm looking forward to getting it all done.

I'll post a link/pic's when I get it all done.
